It’s Time For A Righteous Revolution!

God never called His people to be defeated. We are called to be overcomers! Enough with passively sitting by as our souls are insnared by the tyranny of the enemy. Those who overcome do so by persistently fighting and moving forward. Our faith must be radical and aggressive if we ever intend to prevail.

The wickedness in our world is vexing. It is time for the people of God to revolt against the teaming hordes of hell and proclaim His righteousness. The church cannot afford to be asleep in the light. Let the children of the day arise, put on the Armor of God, and become righteous revolutionaries.

We can either slip away behind Christian platitudes and practices of men, simply look the part, go through the motions content with the same-ole-same-ole, or we can lace up our combat boots and join the revolution. 

A Spiritual Revolution

Revolution means “a radical and pervasive change in society and the social structure,  especially one made suddenly and often accompanied by violence.”

If the revolution is spiritual then the violence is spiritual. The violence in the Kingdom of God is people of God pushing and praying for His spiritual authority to rule. Just because our battle is not against flesh and blood, just because we don’t always see the fighting, doesn’t mean there is no war. 

Too many believers, especially in the USA, are closing their eyes to spiritual warfare. Pretending the enemy doesn’t exist only enables and emboldens them. 

The Heart of A Revolutionary

The men and women of the Revolutionary War can teach us a lot about what it takes to be a revolutionary. They determined that the price for freedom was more appealing than living under the dominion of tyranny. These men sacrificed their comfort, finances, and family so you and I can walk in liberty.

In a speech to the Virginia Convention of 1775, Patrick Henry said, “The battle, sir, is not to the strong alone; it is to the vigilant, the active, the brave.”

Patrick Henry also said, “Is life so dear or peace so sweet as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God. I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death.” Patrick Henry’s commitment to freedom was based on his faith. He said, “It is when people forget God that tyrants forge their chains.”

In 1776 George Washington said, ”The hour is fast approaching, on which the Honor and Success of this army, and the safety of our bleeding Country depend. Remember officers and Soldiers, that you are free men, fighting for the blessings of Liberty — that slavery will be your portion, and that of your posterity, if you do not acquit yourselves like men.“

John Adams in a letter to Mercy Warren wrote, ”Men must be ready, they must pride themselves and be happy to sacrifice their private pleasures, passions and interests, nay, their private friendships and dearest connections, when they stand in competition with the rights of society.“

John Paul Jones’, a naval warrior, response to the enemy’s demand to surrender must be our heart cry, “I have not yet begun to fight!”

May the people of God awake and have the heart of a revolutionary. May the pulpits of America, and around the world, preach about heaven and hell.

Time To Fight

The church can not allow the enemy of our soul to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10) while we sit back and do nothing. Let the church arise and move the gates of hell. 

 We Fight Against…

  • the tyranny of oppression and suicide
  • a fear of contending for the faith
  • the present system of worldliness
  • the cancer of compromise
  • cold, apathetic Christianity
  • the prominent poison of pornography
  • the chains of darkness that hold souls hostage
  • the damnable doctrines of devils

The church cannot sit idly by while many slip into the abyss of deafening darkness. If we are going to evict spiritual darkness we had better be ready for a revolution. It is time for a sudden change. 

First Win the Battle Within

The Battle of Passiveness. Nothing is more detestable and sickening than a passive Spirit-filled believer. God has given them power, but they don’t use it. 

Too often we try to act cool, but we are really compliant. Passive saints are lukewarm saints. They go through the motions of living for God, but there is no real victory, no real deliverance.

Some say, “Well I’m being long-suffering.” Really? Let us not excuse our passivity while darkness reigns around us. This generation is dying because the church has resigned itself to the indifferent role of a “contentious objector.” This is not the day for yielding. This is the day for resisting and attacking. This is the day to fight. This is the day for a righteous revolution. Wake up church! 

The Battle of Anxiousness. Many are so stressed and anxious that they have become convinced they are going to lose anyway, so why fight? Worry, anxiety, and fear paralyze the warrior. Prayer is where we battle anxiety (Philippians 4:6). Worry must be confronted with faith. 

3 Weapons Every Revolutionary Believer Must Have

Jesus lists three things in Matthew 6 that if we will do in secret, He would reward us openly.

  1. Sacrificial Giving (Matthew 6:1-4)
  2. Persistent Prayer (Matthew 6:5-6)
  3. Faithful Fasting (Matthew 6:16-18)

These are the weapons of revolutionary believers. This is how we can turn back the advancing tyranny of the darkness. 

Battle on Christian soldier. March onward to war. You have been given power from the Almighty. You are more than a conqueror. Wake up children of the Light. Press on. Victory is yours. Take a stand against sin. Give like never before. Pray as if every prayer is your last. Fast constantly to cultivate a hunger for God. 

Let me add one more quote from Patrick Henry:

 ”They tell us Sir, that we are weak — unable to cope with so formidable an adversary. But when shall we be stronger? Will it be the next week, or the next year? Will it be when we are totally disarmed, and when a British guard shall be stationed in every house? Shall we gather strength by irresolution and inaction? Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance by lying supinely on our backs, and hugging the delusive phantom of hope, until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot? Sir, we are not weak, if we make a proper use of those means which the God of nature has placed in our power.”

Decide today to become a revolutionary. It is time for a Righteous Revolution! This is the day to determine to be an intercessor. Now is the time to call a solemn fast. What are we waiting for? Our weapons are not carnal. We do not war against people. Our battle is against principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of this world, and against wickedness in high places (Ephesians 6:12).

One more quote from a revolutionary named Caleb, an Israeli spy, “Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.” (Numbers 13:30)
